Data, software and image credits

AstroLab’s public calculators and reference data were adapted with the site owner’s authorization from the astronomy tools in AstroClassifieds. The calculations and original scientific caveats are retained.

Sky calculations and forecasts

• SunCalc: copyright 2011–2015 Vladimir Agafonkin, BSD 2-Clause. AstroLab includes the local 1.9.0-compatible build and its license in licenses/SUNCALC-LICENSE.txt.
• Clear Sky forecasts: MET Norway Locationforecast. Provider attribution is also shown within the tool.
• Planetary seeing: Open-Meteo / NOAA GFS model data. Seeing scores are planning estimates, not direct atmospheric measurements.
• Observing catalogue: the reconciled 250-object Messier, Caldwell and southern-highlights catalogue and telescope/camera/target presets from the reference tools. Values are planning references; verify equipment specifications with the manufacturer.

Eyepiece simulator imagery

• Moon — NASA Scientific Visualization Studio / Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter.
• Jupiter — NASA, ESA, STScI, Amy Simon (NASA-GSFC); image processing: Joseph DePasquale (STScI).
• Saturn — NASA/JPL-Caltech/Space Science Institute, Cassini.
• Mars — NASA, ESA, Zoltan Levay (STScI).

These representative images illustrate scale and framing; they do not promise photographic detail at the eyepiece. No endorsement by the credited organizations is implied.

Interface libraries

Bootstrap 5.3.2 (MIT) and Font Awesome Free 6.5.1 (icons CC BY 4.0, fonts SIL OFL 1.1, code MIT) are loaded from their respective CDNs with their upstream licensing. AstroLab uses system fonts.
